Dodatna objašnjenja

Much too i far too

Možemo koristiti much i far sa too da bismo naglasili nešto. Far too je jače nego much too:

  • The temperature in the classroom was much too hot, so I opened the window.
  • A delay of an entire week is far too long!

Too i very

Možemo koristiti very da dodamo jačinu pridevu ili prilogu, ali to nema isto značenje kao too. Uporedite sledeće primere:

  • He is very careful. (very makes careful stronger)
  • He is too careful.  (more careful than is necessary)

Too bad

U komunikaciji, mi koristimo too bad ili that’s too bad kao naš odgovor da iskažemo da nam je žao što čujemo nešto:

  • It is going to rain tomorrow.
Too bad! We were planning to go to the park.

Enough
se takođe može koristiti kao zamenica (a pronoun) ili prilog (an adverb).

  • Are you ready for the test?
